Join us for these fun, online art classes where we’ll learn to draw and paint beautiful mandalas, patterns and doodles. We’re a welcoming community of budding artists from a wide variety of backgrounds and with mixed abilities. Beginners are very welcome. I’ll show you in simple, easy-to-follow instructions exactly what to do.
How to book
Please select the date/time you would like to attend from the drop-down menu above. All times are based on the London time zone (GMT in winter or BST in summer). A link to the class on Zoom will be automatically sent after booking. Please keep a note of this ready for the class.
Being creative is great for our mental health. Drawing, painting, doodling or simply colouring mandalas (and similar patterns) are particularly known for their meditative qualities. Since these classes started in 2020 we’ve covered a range of artistic styles including Arabic Geometry, Celtic knots, and, of course, mandalas and more recently more contemporary doodles and patterns.
Each class lasts at least an hour (but it does vary depending on the particular session). Where possible, I offer more than one time/day to allow for different time zones.
Please note that the classes are not usually recorded. However, PDF instructions are provided to everyone who registers after the class. A small selection of videos from previous classes is available to purchase separately. Private Classes can also be arranged if any particular pattern from a previous class catches your eye.
What you'll need
What we will use varies slightly from month to month but usually includes the following.
- Geometry compass (most sessions)
- Protractor (most sessions)
- Pencil (all classes)
- Clear ruler (all classes)
- Rubber/Eraser (all classes)
- A4 thick paper, card, or watercolour paper (all classes)
- Smudge-proof fineliner pen (most classes)
- Colouring pencils, pens or paints (not strictly needed for the class but can be used to colour your drawing after the class)
